Renaissance Capital becomes a trading member of Astana International Exchange

Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging and frontier markets investment bank, announces that it has become a trading member of Astana International Exchange (AIX).  A respective certificate was awarded to Christophe Charlier, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Renaissance Capital during the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, to the Astana International Financial Centre earlier in July.

In the beginning of August, Renaissance Capital signed a custody agreement and a market-making agreement, and will be able to start trading as a market maker soon. The AIX membership will allow the Firm to provide clients with fully-fledged exchange access to the national privatisation programme as well as sovereign and corporate securities offerings.

Christophe Charlier, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Renaissance Capital, commented: “AIX membership is an important milestone for Renaissance Capital. We have a multi-year successful track record of implementing transactions for Kazakh issuers in equity and debt capital markets and promoting Kazakhstan’s investment case among international investors. Our nearest specialised investor event - Kazakhstan in Focus: 100 Days of New Leadership – will take place in London in October and will gather key global investors, top Kazakh companies as well as high-profile government officials. The participants will discuss Kazakhstan’s economic outlook, most recent market developments and existing opportunities, and will focus on the fastest-growing companies and sectors of the Kazakh economy.”

Renaissance Capital has an established track record in Kazakhstan, including repeated capital markets mandates for KTZ, the national railroad operator, as well as active co-operation with leading local banking institutions. In addition, Renaissance Capital consistently educates global investors on Kazakhstan’s economy, preparing macro reports on a regular basis and arranging dedicated investor events.
