Renaissance Capital research team recognised as top 10 in Institutional Investor 2017 All-EMEA Research Team survey

Ranks No.1 in Utilities and No.3 in Frontier Markets


Moscow and London, 27 June 2017 – Renaissance Capital, a leading emerging and frontier markets investment bank, has once again been recognised in Institutional Investor's (II) 2017 All-EMEA Research Team survey. The Firm jumped four places to ninth in the overall EMEA Research Team Ranking, ascending to the top ten.

Renaissance Capital's Utilities research team led by Vladimir Sklyar, Director, Utilities, was ranked No.1. The Frontier Markets team led by Charles Robertson, Global Chief Economist, and Daniel Salter, Head of Research, Eurasia, was ranked No. 3 in its respective category. The Metals & Mining team led by Johann Pretorius, Head of Research, Africa, the Economics Team led by Charles Robertson, and the Transportation team led by Alexander Kazbegi, Renaissance Capital’s leading Telecoms & Transportation Analyst, finished as runner-up in the prestigious II survey.

The 2017 Institutional Investor EMEA Research Team Ranking reflects the opinions of more than 680 portfolio managers and buy-side analysts at 358 institutions, which collectively manage approximately $357 billion in emerging EMEA equities and $321 billion in emerging EMEA debt.

Earlier this month, Renaissance Capital was ranked the No.1 Frontier Markets brokerage firm in the 2017 Extel Survey for the second year in a row. The Firm's African research team was rated 6th for equity research in South Africa's leading Financial Mail Awards 2017, with Yvonne Mhango, a leading Sub-Saharan Africa Economist, achieving the top rank in Africa (ex-South Africa) non-equities research and individual analysts scoring top positions in nine sectors.
